Robin Thornhill One Day Workshop

This 1-day workshop focused on the basics of landscape painting, with an emphasis on understanding the value scale and how it can be used to create a variety of moods in your paintings.
Participants developed several preliminary value/color studies to guide them through a finished painting. A short demonstration was provided during the session, as well as plenty of personal instruction.

Painting Winter Light in Pastel – One Session

Do you have sun filled photos of snow that you would love to capture in pastel? Then this is the workshop for you.

In a fun and relaxed environment, fill your snow scene with warmth as you learn the techniques used to get a luminous glow and transparent shadows of winter.  This workshop will begin with an hour long demo showing the specific ways to achieve these effects followed by uninterrupted painting time and one-on-one instruction at your easel.

Pastel Basics With Lisa Regopoulos

Are you new to pastel or have you ever been frustrated by attempts to use your beautiful pastels? If so, don’t miss this two day pastel basics workshop.

You will be introduced to the many different varieties of soft pastel and papers and will get a chance to try them out. There will be hands on exercises to get you familiar with pastel application and stroke techniques.

The workshop will begin with a demo that will show you the step by step thought process to develop your own pastel painting. Get familiar with a surface you prefer by trying different types of paper/board that will be provided. Other creative ways to use pastel will be shown and discussed.

Bring any and all soft pastels you may have, but no oil pastel. Demo photos will be provided to each student along with hand-outs for reference.

On Becoming Better Artists with Pastel
